Karate-Ka of the Month (KOTM)

Every month each student has the opportunity to work hard to win the Karate-Ka of the Month Award by showing true spirit in their karate, this includes:

  • Great Dedication
  • A fantastic karate attitude
  • Trains regularly and hard in every lesson
  • Demonstrates great discipline and respect for other Karate-Ka

KOTM 2026

January 2026

Edgar has upped his game, increasing attendance and effort across the board which is fantastic to see. The trick is to maintain this attitude and momentum. You’ve got this Edgar, you’ve just got to keep this level of focus! Bloomin well done 👊🥋

February 2026

In the last two lessons in particular Kaylin really listened and applied the skills taught. However, it’s important to practise, practise, practise so the abilities learnt remain current. KeeeeeeEEEEEEEP Practising! Bloomin well done 👊🥋

November 2025

Teni has such enthusiasm and really rocks that gi! Teni is learning to concentrate on the detail of his techniques and show real spirit in his actions which is great to see at such an early stage of his karate journey. Two students that always give their absolute best in and outside the dojo. Both had a fantastic lesson last Thursday starting with basics, kata & freestyle. Finished with freestyle concentration, both really showing off their techniques and combinations inside a friendly pressure circle. Great preparation for the Dan grading Kumite this evening! Go get ‘em Filip Lupsa and Lana Fountain, you’ve got this 👊🥋

Ayaan has shown a lot of focus in his karate in and outside the dojo, including practising his kata and Kiai! The benefit of such drive and determination will surely pay dividends for the upcoming grading. Keep it up Ayaan! I can already see your next belt materialising around your waist! Gabriel has been part of the summer hard core group for attendance and his karate skill level has advanced accordingly. Such great commitment with clear practise outside the dojo as we lead up to the September grading. Well done Gabriel, keep it up! 👏

Liam has shown great enthusiasm through his lessons with a keen desire to be better than he was yesterday – a key ESKA Stevenage value. Liam has been watching and listening closely, putting to good use what he has learnt with a kiai that is becoming more and more confident. Superb efforts during training (listening, transferring to action and polishing the quality of techniques) with clear practise outside the dojo. Yes, Karate-Ka of the year 2024 has done it again… Superb attendance, fantastic listening followed with application to techniques thereafter and a brilliant demonstration of Heain Godan yesterday – in the words of Sensei Stones “The Lord’s Kata” who I’m certain would have been very impressed with Sofia’s kata last night (keep polishing those techniques 😁).
